Born and raised in Menasha, 12 years at St Mary, Grad in 1960, Wife of 47 years Betty Poquette Krahenbuhl also from Menasha. Received BS (Zoology), MS (Microbiology) and PhD (Microbiology) in 1970 from UW Madison. Postdoctoral studies at Stanford in Palo Alto, 37 years in leprosy (Hansen's Disease) research, 34 as a federal employee (Sam Francisco PHS Hospital, 1979-198), National Hansen's Disease Programs (NHDP) center, Carville, LA and Baton Rouge, 1983 - present), Chief of Research 1994-2005, Duirector of the NHDP 2005-present.
